An Evening in Paris

This is a digital collage I created from various paper designs. I added the floral part which was scanned from an antique scrap of paper I found. The colors are perfect for this season, rich reds and soft robins egg blue, which complement each other so well.
This is printed on archival mat paper and is 16" x 16". This is printed in a limited edition number of 75 prints and includes a signed and numbered COA. This item is number 2 in the series.

Available now on Etsy!

Today's featured Original

Here is Storyline #20. This painting is an acrylic on canvas on 8x8 stretched canvas. I start these by painting a white canvas black and while the paint is wet I etch shapes with a pencil into the paint exposing the white beneath. Once the black paint is dry I fill in all the shapes. The white lines remain so no color overlaps. I tend to keep to a simple color palette and use very balanced looks. This item will be available soon for sale. It retails for $160.00. small original works mae great holiday gifts. I will have several available so please check back soon.

ACEO Today

An Apple A Day is an original one of a kind ACEO card. It's a collage that features an apple, a layer of Asian inspired hand made paper, and three small dots collaged into the bottom half. The dots are from a map which I always enjoy adding to my work. It's varnished for a glossy finish. As usual please feel free to visit my Etsy site for this ACEO and other art.

Have a great week!

Fun new shop in San Francisco

I try to only add new art to my posts but then I found out about this shop on Valencia Street in San Francisco this morning on Daily Candy and it looked like so much fun I wanted to share it with my readers. Here's what the new owners have to say: The Curiosity Shoppe is owned and operated by Lauren Smith and Derek Fagerstrom. We left our super fun, kinda crazy lives in New York City and came home to the San Francisco Bay Area to start up the Shoppe for the simple reason that we are obsessed with beautiful things. We're thrilled to be sharing the objects and ideas that delight and inspire us with as many people as possible. Whether it's a favorite art book, a vintage find, a carefully hand-crafted piece of jewelry or a one-of-a-kind painting, we guarantee everything you'll find in the Shoppe is special. The person who dreamed it up gave it their creative all, and we love them for it. Curiosity shoppe

Don't you just love this return to arts and crafts!

a New Look at Landscape

Here's an unusual landscape...View From a Parking Lot on the 38th Floor. It's a print and the original should be available in about a month or so. After I finished this I came up with the title. It looks like one of those strange city views one gets when you are staying at a hotel in New York City and it's really tall and looks down on a bunch of rooftops. License Plate Charms

This artist is great. She's so creative and I'm thinking about buying one of her license plate charms I just don't know which one. Put yourself in a state of style with this charming pendant/zipper pull/keychain thingie created from a real and really old state license plate. Each very individual letter is hand crafted with love, lead free solder and a sterling silver jump ring. As the copywriters say, it's "a wonderful keepsake gift for anyone who likes unpredictable jewelry with a bit of an edge." an artist by Day

I'm an artist by day...and by night and pretty much all the time. I want to use this blog as a way to show more people my art so that someday I can actually support me and my family on my art alone. And have enough money left over for really great vacations. Wouldn't that be something? So..first things first. I like to create ACEO cards. Don't ask me what that stands for but I know what it is. These are 2.5" x 3.5" collector cards...kinda like baseball cards but a lot cooler. These can be limited edition or they can be open edition. I like to keep mine to around 10 in each edition and they are $6.99. I'm attaching one of my favourites here. To go to this one follow this link...

I will be adding to this often so please check back.
